Fine, you got me, today isn’t actually Earth Day. April 22nd marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. That said, cities across the United States will be celebrating all weekend long. This is a great opportunity to enjoy city adventures on a budget.
City adventures on a budget | What are you doing for Earth Day?
I hope everyone takes full advantage of one of many city sponsored events. There will be ample food (for free!), community vibes, and cleanup activities to participate in. I hope you have the chance to explore some place new this weekend. Not all activities have to be expensive. I encourage you to explore one of many city adventures on a budget to explore.

Rachael and I actually left our city and drove a few miles north to Pt. Pinole Regional Shoreline. It’s important to get out of the hustle and bustle every now and again. Over a hundred volunteers came together to help clean up the coastline. We were welcome with more coffee we could drink, all the bagel options, and enough free fruit to cure scurvy for all. It felt awesome to do some shoreline trash pick up, and do something that connects you with the natural world and each other. I make it a point to identify new city adventures on a budget each week.

Blog Posts
This week was an exciting one. It started out with engagement photos, which prompted me to write a little bit about how Rachael and I are finding fun and creative ways to decrease wedding planning costs, while maximizing our needs. Check it out.
I spent some time traveling for work this week, which reminded me about the time when I paid off $80,000 of student loans by traveling for work. In just 3 years, I was able to use the extra income from a travel job to pay it all off. I notice a spike in my viewership when I post about about student loans, so I dedicated two posts this week to help millennials eliminate their student loans. I even developed a Student Loan Elimination Guide. It’s embedded within the post entitled 8 Student Loan Elimination Strategies. See if you can find it!
Another hot topic of our generation is real estate. My long time buddy Mark wrote a sweet post called the “Pathway to Homeownership”. It all begins with passion for homeownership and a loan pre-qualification. If you haven’t read it already, here it is.
Lastly, and as always, you can follow my weekly journey towards writing a successful blog.
Thank you for all of your support during these early days.
I truly hope you stick with me. Furthermore, if this content does not speak to you, I’d be so grateful if you would pay it forward. Will you send my website to someone who may need some tips on living (and surviving) in an expensive city? If you have any city survival tips, I’d love to hear them. You can reply back to this email to start a conversation.
Much Love,
Thomas
